Subject: Importing Wavfront Objects into Raydream

Kagato98 ( ) posted Sun, 14 November 1999 at 2:27 PM · edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 11:55 AM

I was reading a tutorial for making clothing and it involved exporting one of the poser models as a wavfront object and importing it into Raydream, but when I try to import it into raydream, I get an error that says rong file type. Can someone please tell me how to import wavfronts into Raydream? thx!

You must have the plugins and the modeller upgrade installed. Which version of RDS do you have? -JH.

I have raydream 5.0

First. Go get the update for RD5 from metacreations.com to upgrade to 5.02. Second. Don't export from poser to RD. The best way to open poser .obj files in RD is to simply choose OPEN in RD and find the .obj file in the poser->runtime->geometries folder. Scott Ayers iamsba@aol.com

After you get the update to 5.02 get the OBJ/modeler update: The modeler upgrade came with Poser3. You can either install it from the custom selection on the CD or download it from the MC FTP. They used to have a direct link to it, but now I think it's hidden in the directories. Here's the windows OBJ/Modeler update: ftp://ftp.metacreations.com/pub/Applications/rds/update/win/Win_obj.zip Here's the MAC version: ftp://ftp.metacreations.com/pub/Applications/rds/update/mac/Mac_obj.bin -JH.
