Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
the texture for the model may indeed represent your skin but which model will you stretch it over? The underlying geometry will most likely not look like your face. Mike2 and Vicky2 have a ton of morphs that may get you closer but don't expect miracles there. There is a program for sale in the store called still2real but I haven't heard much success with it. I have a copy but haven't dusted it off yet. Good luck. You could try making your own head morph targets using one of the many 3D modeling programs (not for the faint hearted due to the somewhat stiff learning curve.) Besides would you really pay $200 for poser just to see your puss on a 3D model? You have to have a more compelling reason than that! :)
It is definately possible to use Poser models in Bryce, In Bryce 4 you would arrange your figure in Poser and export it as an object, then import it into Bryce (I don't have Bryce 5 so can't comment on the ease of doing this with that version though I vaguely remember that it is suppose to be easier) and the textures can be loaded into Bryce and applied to the model as normal
Make your face texture using Cake1's tutorial. Load the texture into Poser and play with the head morphs to see if you can't come to some sort of aproximation of your own features. Even the default P4 Male has an abundance of morphing anilities that may produce acceptable results. If not, you'll have to make a custom Morph using a secondary 3D modeling package. Tutorials for doing as such can be found in the "Tutorial" section, I do believe. And jambal77, even Victoria can be morphed to look like a grizzled old prospector, so I'm sure your mug wouldn't look that out of place. -jus' kiddin' :)~
