I haven't forgotten you. :o)

It is just taking me a bit longer than I originally thought it would to get the beard put together as well as figure out how I am going to distribute the items.

First off, while it would be nice to post the complete figure this is not practical as most of the clothing items are by other folks and are available already in free stuff.

Here is what I have come up with - thus far. Let me know what you think.

I have taken the Michael Cr2 and regrouped the material on the face to allow seperate texturing for the area affected by the beard morphs. You can use all the standard head textures for Michael with this Cr2, or you can use part of one texture - say a head texture that has a beard, and combine it with another texture you like that maybe does not have a beard. Mix and match in other words, like you can the lips, eyes, eyebrows, etc. You can also use the grouped material to spawn your own beard props by tweaking the head dials and than using the grouping tool to create a new prop (just select the "include material" select beard, and then click on spawn prop. Simple as that. Well, those are just some of my thoughts on the subject.

The next item is a wizards beard built by spawning (stealing) parts off of the conforming curls. I also have a few added bits and pieces of beard prop so that you can change the look and length of the beard. I am not promising that any of this is going to be all that fancy or thrilling. Especially since it comes without any textures or transmaps. Unfortunately that is just not something I am skilled at. However, the beard and most of the beard pieces I include will take the transcurl tex and tran by Allerleirauh (which most of you probably have already).

If you are interested in seeing the end results, take a look at the Khazad Dum picture I just posted in the Gallery. That should give you some idea of what the beard prop looks like and how it will render.

Having said all this, the only question that remains is are you guys and gals still interested? If so, let me know and I will try to post the items sometime tomorrow.

Oh, one more thing. How would you like the items posted. All together - Beard cr2 plus the face fc2 and the beard prop pp2 in one zip. Or would you prefer I break them out, with maybe the cr2 and fc2 in one zip - for the Michael users out there - and the Beard prop in another zip for most everyone else as they can be more or less sized to fit the Dork as well.

Let me know.

Rob

I hope that this works out. I would love nothing more than to see my namesake as a poser figure. I've been playing with beard settings and transmaps for a short while and haven't gotten anywhere with them yet. As for packaging options,I have a fast connection, so either way would be fine but for some I think that the 2 piece setup would be the best option. Regards, mithrandir2K

My thanks to all of you. Also, thanks to everyone who checked out my the render of Gandalf I posted in the Gallery. Just wanted to let everyone know that I have posted the beard and hair prop I made/used for Gandalf in Free Stuff along with a Cr2 of Michael that has the polygons in the face grouped so that the beard portion can be textured seperately. There is also a set of face poses, including the one I used for Gandalf and also an simple eye prop that I have used in a number of my renders to help add a bit of gleem to the eyes. Hope you find these items of use. Let me know if there are any problems downloading or with the files. Cheers, Rob
