What version of Poser are you using and what are the specs of your machine? (RAM, CPU speed, etc.)

you might try deleting the first figure before adding another. one other thing it might be is that you are trying to add a figure, but poser thinks you are trying to replace one. instead of double clicking the new character as you would expect, single click it, and go to the bottom where you see a double check mark, and click that. then you can have two figures in the document window simultaneously. old hats at poser tend to forget that simple stuff like that frustrated us once upon a time....

Yeah... Britney Spears has a degree in Semiconductor Thermodynamics. Probably just a notch or so above the intelligence level that the average Poser newbie needs to have.

Don't let yer meat-loaf...

I would suggest you reinstall Poser and then the 4.03 update. Sounds like you are either missing a core file or one is corrupted. Also ensure that the patch is looking for Poser on the correct drive if not installed on the default C: Let us know how you get on. We can help you through this.

Surely a Poser newbie will already have 4.03 on the CD? Mine says 4.0.3.127 as installed, and I've had it for over a year.

Hi, Could be registry corruption, since most updates simply look in the regisrty to find out where it was installed, unlike DAZ stuff, which actually searches your PC to find a valid poser4/runtime folder. In which case, de-install then re-install, if you don't properly de-install, then it may leave screwed up registry entries, which will persist into an new install. I had the same problem with "the sims" and XP, it had two lots of registry entries, and I only manually cleaned out one set... later jb

Ron I wasn't suggesting not asking about the update, but rather that we should also make sure they do actually need it (no idea how big a file it is to download but probably enough to annoy moem users, and people may get even more confused if they try installing without realising they already have it)
