Subject: Is the sky "too" dark?

I took some cemetery pictures on my lunch hour two days ago, about 1:30 in the afternoon. I know the rules about trying to shoot at that time of the day, but I hate rules! There was snow on the ground, I threw a circular polarizer on my camera. I thought these looked kind of dramatic.....but now I'm wondering if the contrast isn't just a bit too much. Also the highlights might be to much as well. Do you think this image is ok? Or should I do some photoshopping on this?

I can see detail in the highlights, so they are not washed. As for the sky, very subjective idea of what you think you want the image to say. I would say keep working with the subject. You will find some more ideas that you like.

That polarized sky looks pretty cool on this one.

...light in right side, darkness in left. Sorry, just could not resist myself... Beautiful pic you got there. .n

I had to mess with it too. Hope you don't mind. I'm on a graphic design kick right now. I like your sky dark like that. Maybe even boost the saturation to the blue to make it really POP!

Very nice composition on original image. Really like Antoonio's and nplus' interpretation. They are jaw-dropping!

Oh, very nice pic and I love Antoonio's adjustment. Makes it really magical. Cool! :)

I think the blue is beautiful, she really stands out against it! Like the variations too - Antoonio's is so mystical!

Thanks guys....I guess I'll leave it as is for now. Antoonio you've made it look awesome, if I did anything to it, it would probably be something like that! I like your graphic nplus! What a bunch of great minds on this group

I'm confused. None of the images posted here come up on my computer. All I get is a white square with a red X in it. Can anyone tell me why this is? It sounds like I am missing a beautiful shot. It has happened on other posts too

I've had that happen to me before too Caledonia....sometimes just hitting the refresh key on my browser works.

You are right, thanks. It came out this time. I think the sky looks good, makes the statue stand out.
