Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 8:11 am)
Go to Traveller's site at Morph World, he has a tutorial for Eve's clothes conversions. He also has some ready done. Eve really is a wonderful figure and because she's derived from the original Poser nude the lo-res figures work for her too. Can anyone remember who the bloke was who created her? I owe him a debt of gratitude.
If I am not mistaken, ravenfeeder, Arduino's Eve is not the same model Saxon is referring to. The latter Eve was started originally I think by Hellborn. She has been modified by various people and went from the original through Eve Version 4 (now available at Morphworld). Arduino's Eve is his own creation. The name Eve apparently refers to the Biblical Eve since she comes with a snake and apple. The object file she uses is evebyap.obj. This is different than the object files used by the various other Eves. I did a very quick test-no posing. Both the P4 and EveV4 modified slacks look Ok on her. The unitard leaves a lot of skin showing especially in the chest area, but the EveV4 version is better. Ghastley's EveV4 Blouse leaves her breasts in the wind. I don't know a lot about conforming stuff, maybe just her chest size. Perhaps just a little magnet work needed. You might want to contact Arduino and ask him. Looks like some minor changes like Traveler did for EveV4 might work. Keep in mind, this is all from a very non-expert though.

Torino (Steve) did Eve V1. Not Arduino, not Hellborn. Hellborn did a P3 hip with an addition of an anatomically correct prop - welded in. A good one, better than verts in Vic allow, because there are more of them. This was ported over to P4 and to Eve(V2?) by NdYVO4(?). Since Eve is a recut P4, P4 clothing will fit, but they will not conform correctly. Any P4 item could be converted to Eve fairly easily, using UVMapper and placing the item on Eve as a prop in Poser, using the display style and transparency functions to show where the new groups should be. Use the substraction method, and the reassignment of groups should go reasonably quickly once you get the hang of it. My bet is that Arduino has done a remap of Eve. If his site has an explanation of what he has done, the page is not available right now. If you want to keep innovations and improvements coming, especially for free, making sure the credit goes to the proper person is a good idea.
Thanks for all the responses. In talking about Arduino's Eve, which is a truly beautifully done model, I feel a bit like the authors of books who try to thank all those who contributed to the success of the book and inadvertantly leave someone out. I, as an amateur at this game, am very grateful for all of you creative people who make this possible. I would like to try a little of that creativity myself, but am having a little trouble finding all the tools. I haven't been able to locate Morph World, for example. Have I missed the obvious?

Sorry, I was being lazy. here's the URL. It's a while since I went to Arduino's site but I'm pretty sure he credits the original creator. Jaager, you're quite right but my memory isn't what it was. I have some texture maps I've made for various versions of Eve, I'll put them up soon...Thanks Jaager for the ancestry. I knew Hellborn was in there somewhere. I think it's been suggested before, but a family tree of all the various figures would be nice. I think on his site Jaager has something like this (if memory serves - fat chance). I'v given up trying to remember what goes with what, gen maps, etc, between 4 Eves, Azura, WWG, WWG2, Latexa... Then there's Vicky, Tiziana, WWGV2, Tiziana4Vicky. Ay Caramba. I didn't see any mention of waht Arduino Based his Eve on either, thus my assumption that she was completely different. No doubt Victoria XXII will have a bit of Posette's DNA lurking somewhere in her gene pool.

Two questions really - 1. What's a good source for really good conforming clothes for Arduino's Eve? 2. What's a good 3D software suite for creating clothes for poser people? That's one at a reasonable price (preferably something under $200).
