THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: "Unexpected error (out of memory)" - eh?

I'm having problems trying to import a particular .obj file into Bryce 4. The size of it is about 14 Mb and I keep getting the error message "unexpected error (out of memory)". Well, it seemed plausible, so I just quadrupled the amount of memory on my PC, and exactly the same thing happens. It CAN'T be out of memory now, surely? Windows reports 320 Mb free. Can anyone shed any light on this, please?

Have you tried running it thru UV Mapper? Just open it up then save it back out. Sometimes that fixes them...

No, that doesn't help. I can load this model into any other 3d app, but not Bryce. If I try importing it as .obj or .dxf I get the out of memory error, if I try .3ds I get a bad input format error (for some strange reason).

I run into the same thing with an 866 PIII and 512MB SDRAM on a 32MB Radeon,... Bryce 4 sounds like the culprit,... but what to do???
