I was wondering if anyone remembers who did this tutorial on lens flare effects in Poser.

I found it very useful when I first started learning to do this sort of thing. It would be a great resource for others wanting to learn, but I have no idea who the author was or if the tutorial still exists anywhere on the web.

:o(

I have that one too, Fantasic tutorial with a PZ3 set up and flares included, right? The tutorial was not signed and my bookmark when 'dead' about a year ago. Whoever you are, Thank You!

Oh, Thank you for trying to find that! That is something that I'd really like to learn. So if somebody knows HOW TO, - I'd be very happy if you would do a quick writeup! Britt

sixpackwolf made the tutorial. It might be at the Props Guild.

It doesn't appear to be at Props Guild. If someone finds it there, let me know but I checked and either missed it or nadda. I am tracking down a couple more leads though so who knows...

If your looking for how it works, I remember; Use a flat Square or Circle and make Transparent. Apply a Flare made in PhotoShop, PaintShop, whatever and place at a slight angle between your character and the camera. Position a light 'Behind' the camera and to the Left-or-Right. Play with the position of the Square/Circle and Light for the desired effect. Different "Lense Flares" with different colors, etc to gain various effects.

Thanks igohigh. Great looking faery! I used the lens flare quiet a bit, such as in my last pic Khazad Dum. Not only was the tutorial the first I had seen on the subject, but it came with some ready made props and lens flare to get you started. It seemed a shame to let a good tutorial fall by the wayside so I have been trying to track it down. I have made an attempt to contact the author and hope to hear back. I'll keep yah posted.

Attached Link: http://edgeofnever.com

I was able to contact the author, who was formerly known as sixpacwolf, and have gotten permission to post the tutorial on my web site.

The tutorial itself is brief, but the lens flare samples and props that are included make it a great item to have even for folks who already know how to do this. For those who don't, there is also a pz3 file included with a lens flare set-up and lights so you can look at it and get a better understanding of how it works.
