Subject: Geometry Problem after Poser Pro(Bloodsong)

skee ( ) posted Wed, 16 January 2002 at 12:36 PM ยท edited Mon, 18 November 2024 at 11:51 PM

I have just installed Poser Pro and find that it will not read or find some of my folders in the geometry files. These are files that poser4 read before install. It does not list them on the Poser interface, but if I open the Runtime-Geometry folder they are there. Anyone else having this problem?? I have a message into CuriousLabs , NO reponse Yet. skee

Poser's Library Palette doesn't list stuff in the Geometry folders; it lists stuff in the Libraries folder. Library items are associated with the files in the Geometry folders. Maybe I'm misinterpreting the question.

Try deleting the rsr files in the geometry folder(and all sub-folders). This sometimes helps. Be carefull not to delete the rsr files in the libraries folder.

I would like to here this answer. I haven't been able to figure out what to do when all I have is an obj. How do I use it as a prop, etc.

Bararellany: If you've downloaded something and it's just a Wavefront .obj (no cr2, pp2, etc.), use Poser's Import function (from the File menu). Once it's loaded, you can save it to the Library as a prop.

You are very correct Little Dragon ,my mistake. The folders are under Library-characters, They are all still there but on the side bar in poser-Pro they do not show up on the list. Any folder that I have made in the last two months, as far as I can tell, is not opening up on the list. skee

hmmm... i dont know, dont have pro pack myself. the last person i talked to who said his stuff didn't show up in the library drawers had them one directory too deep. instead of the cr2's in ..librariescharacterx, he had them in ..librariescharacterxy. poser 4 usually takes the sub-sub directories and sticks those files in the library under the sub-directory, but apparently pro pack just doesn't find them. if that isn't it, i don't know what it is.

Any folder that I have made in the last two months, as far as I can tell, is not opening up on the list.

So older folders in the Libraries still work, but not the newer ones? That is odd.

Have you tried making new folders after installing Pro Pack? Do the new ones show up in the Library? If so, you could just transfer the contents of the old ones.

I guess I'll ask this before Ron does: have you installed the latest Service Release Update (#3) for Pro Pack? It's available at Curious Labs.

Did you install Pro Pack to a different directory to Poser 4? That way your old folders would still be in Poser 4 but not in Pro Pack. I don't have the Pro Pack so I appologise if I'm on completely the wrong track.
