Well, it doesn't show JUST the hands, - but at least HE is focused on them! Are his hands YOUR focus too?? And could this be an entry?? Britt

I've tried to play with it, - and for some reason it doesn't seem "right" to crop out his face. In a way it seems like he is saying "I KNOW they can do it. I KNOW they can!" lol Also I tried to do them B/w... doesn't seem right either. I'll post a couple of examples. Britt

I think childrens hands, - trying to master something are very facinating. But they don't have the "character" to make "a great" pic like old wrinkled hands that show that they've lived a long time, and done a lot of work. Got a couple of different concept.... brb Britt

I love the first image as a character study in itself, but agree with Alpha that my first focus is the face...i think the second image (cropped) would look great init's original colour form, but that's just me...then it would be just the ticket for the contest...as for the last one chuckle who's about to get a smack? ;-)>

PunkClown lol NOT me, - I'm a good gal! LOL I agree with you. and I think that the knowledge that there is "more" to the picture (kids hands!!!) than meets the eye would kinda ruin the entrance of the contest at least for me. :) Britt

I really like the second one.

I like your idea. I definitely think there is something to younger hands. I mean EVERYBODY does OLD hands. What about the other extreme? For me I am drawn to the head because I scroll down to the head ect. Can you get your subject to do something else which will allow you to focus on his hands. Drawing ect? Just a thought. Bsteph

Bsteph I do agree with you. Hmm.. but how to get hold of a yong model quickly! lol Hmm... will have to think about that. "little hands" have their own character, - yet I think that we tend to see the old hands as more facsinating. I know I do. But that's why I tried to do something else. Problem is, I think, that with small kids like this one there tend to be a heavy intereaction between "head" and "hands" lol Little hands are rarely idle, - and when they "work" the whole little person are so focused on what they do.

So ask them to draw something and let them do it while you snap a photo. good luck! I find younger hands to be quite facination. If for no reason than they don't have the craggs within the skin. it's similar to eyes. Some are clear which people appreciate and some are clowdy. Bsteph
