Ok, It took a lot of guts to put this thing up here. It is my FIRST poser pic ever. It is supposed to be "the rock" from WWF. I am so bad at this i couldnt even correctly put clothes on him. I know he is boring and dull. I would love some crit though. Now when you give me crit, I would appreciate it if you explained how to actuall do it. Like I said im new at this. Thanks in advance.

My friend, I believe I was answering an Instant Message from you, and Renderosity started having server problems. I'm about ready to get to bed, so I will take the easy way out for now. I will post a link to the tutorial section on my site. You will find many helpful tutorials, including one that answers the question: "Who is Mike?!' (Poser World is the name of that one.) I am confident others will step in to answer your questions while I sleep. We can talk in the future, if you like. Every one of us was a beginner at one time. I can tell you up front that I've made some of the biggest bonehead mistakes, and others here at Renderosity were patient and kind enough to help me out. So stay with us, and have fun.

... a whole lot better than ...
"My first Poser pic ..."
Keep on renderin' ............. you WILL get better!

cheers,
dr geep ;=]

P.S. Save this (your pic - above) somewhere off line and then pull it out 2 months from now and compare it with what your doing. Guaranteed you'll see a big difference.

P.P.S. I wouldn't have had the "guts" to post my first one. ;=]

Remember ... "With Poser, all things are possible, and poseable!"

cheers,

dr geep ... :o]

Probably need to bulk him up but I think you did a good job capturing his face. I want to see him throttling Vince McMahon!

I think his face does look a lot like The Rock's not something I'm good at, capturing real faces! Nice work! But I think the pose of the outstretched arm looks a little unnatural the upper part twisted a bit too far. What I usually do when working on a pose is try to get my own body into the poseslowly, so I can see what bones are turning what way and how much and then try to duplicate that on the model. It takes time, but what doesn't! Keep up the good work and never be too shy to ask for criticism!

I just woke up a bit too early, and am trying to get myself back to sleep. If you want to know how to dress your Poser characters, just click on the provided link. One tip: Unfortunately Poser is not smart enough to keep a man's "privates" in his pants. You want to click on the Figure Menue, and remove the check from Genitalia. We don't have this problem with women, unless their tops are too tight, grin.

adding some encouragement - been at this about 3 months or so now and i had all those problems at first with clothes. you'd be surprised at the curve in your work as time goes by. Saved my first efforts, which are pretty funny now. didn't even post anything until i'd done a few. love the facial expression on Rocky. keep at it. : )
