Go to the Tucows web site. They have hundreds of handy programs. I did a search for "lzh," and came up with a large list. Take it from there!

I use a program 'winrar' download from download.com I can't use winzip to unzip it, but I haven't try by changing the extension :)

Winzip can open .lzh files, most likely it requires purchase and registration.

Sorry geep, but unfortunately, that won't work, not with Winzip anyway. lzh is a variant of lha, used on the Amiga platform, and also used quite a bit by the Japanese. As Triceratops said, don't rename it to .zip, just use Winrar or WinAce or PowerArchvier, these all handle lzh and preserve the long filenames. Regards- Lemurtek

PowerArchvier Free, handles lzh. WinZip? Why bother?.

Try Aladin systems Stuffit expander, it's a free download and it opens lots of formats. I got it so I could open Mac sit files.

Folks, the Tucows site I listed has all those products and more. And the programs are either free or shareware.

lzh is produced by a program called LHARC, incidently. Was all the rage about 10-12 years ago.

I use winrar, it will handle lzh only after you put a small dos program into the winrar program file folder. The help file for winrar tells you exactly where to get it and where to put it and it works fantastically. I tried two or three programs from Tucows that were supposed to work but I couldn't get them to. Winrar is pretty user friendly.

What version of WinRAR are you using? Version 2.9 installs all that automatically. Regards- Lemurtek
