Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 15 11:01 am)
Thanks...kieraw. I thought you would say that. I like the poser lighting for the figurers much better. Having a hard time getting the lighting right. When I get enought spot lights so it looks ok. My render time goes way up -). I have lots of RAM (1500MGS) and I do my render at nite when I'm sleeping.
Well if you have Bryce 5 you get soft shadows, which helps a lot. I too have trouble getting skin to look less plastic in Bryce without a LOT of fidding. I found some things to be very useful in all of my random experimentations. Changing the lighting colors helps, as does the use of "fall off" settings. But even then I do a LOT of postwork to get rid of that "washed out" look that I always seem to suffer from in Bryce in general. Some people get gorgeous settings right out of the renderer.. I couldn't produce anything reasonable in Bryce without Photoshop (or, or more recently, Painter.)

When you export a poser figurer say to Bryce does the figure take the light settings with it? Not the light itself. But the light from the last render you did before you export it.
