Well... I just went out and got the FIRST one... I had accitdentally gotten the second edition... without the TGA's on the CD... (that sucked)... I must say... having all of these pre-alpha channeled images is so nice.. and so simple... it's really almost cheating how good the images can be... hehehe... Well.. I dug into my "rendered images" folder and grabbed a random sampling and gave them "the treatment"... Perhaps I'll post some of these individually at their full size a bit later...

These are all photoshop composites... I haven't actually installed VM1 because all I've been using are the TGA's... but VM2 does run in full color mode and you can output your results to a bitmap file... it's kinda nice... the annoying thing is that there are menu selection for showing side/back of hairstyles but when you click on them is asks you for your credit card number! sheesh.. oh well... yeah... I'm curious about istyle too...

Pauls technique works great but you're stuck with the original camera angle. Has anyone tried using these .tga's to build maps on Poser hair models? And, btw, my regular CD died and my CD-R/RW does not seem to read the Makeover #1 disc. Anybody got a workaround suggestion?

Tim, so I understand--these are from 1, right? I have version 2 which means I've been working differently than with .tga's. (I just realized I could save as .bmps). What I did in the beginning was make a 'white' face and use the hair on it, then take it to PSP, select as alpha channel and use on my pics. I like these a lot. I noticed the 'pink' version 1 (I think) just last week at Best Buy for $9.95--of course, after I bought version 2 several weeks ago--LOL. Diane B

yeah... I was working with V2 as well... but V1 is soooo much less hassle... you never have to install the program... just use the hair off of the CD directly in your image editing software... it's the best!

Well, you inspired me to try a few. Though mine aren't as cool as yours, they were fun to do.... Diane B

I have iStyle, but I've misplaced it. Can't find it anywhere. I also have WigOut!, but the hair comes into Photoshop sort of faded from that one. I still think Cosmo is the best. BTW, which are you referring to as Makeover 2? Do you mean the purple add-on package? I have that one, and I can get the tga's off of it. There aren't as many to choose from, very limited, but they're there. You have to look for them. At the moment, I can't remember how to get to the files. I think I'm getting Alzheimer's. I've also misplaced my WigOut! disk as well. Somebody help me before I'm completely lost! Melanie

Wow, my eyes are poppin' out of my head!... Great Images tlaubach but then your textures and rendered images are very realistic anyway.. With the Cosmo hair, their even more awesome...=) I have VM1, VM2 and Istyle....Istyle has more hair (500+) and their wigs are pre-alpha channeled too (masked)in *.png format... Also it has accessories (glasses, barretts, hats and jewery)that are masked, pre-alpha channeled... It has men's hair and facail hair.. It's very much like VM1 but more hair and more options.. You can use them via Hafeli style or a paint program that works with layers..To Allerleirauh, it works full color on a PC... ~Cindy

Melanie, The Cosmo CD I have is Cosmopolitan Virtual makeover 2 with the Cosmo lettering in a purply blue, but more blue than purple. I have NOT found any .tga's on it at all. I also now have the first one with not too many styles but in .tga. I browse for the file (I'm using PSP6) open all of them and look through them, select one, then go to selection menu and choose 'select from alpha channel' and copy and paste as layer over image. Site Admin Online Now!

In case somebody following this thread is not aware: The Virtual Makeover site has downloads of added files for the first version (Pink box) with added hairstyles (men's too!!!!), hats, glasses, bridal veils etc. But you must install the program because it does a search for it and automatically installs the files. However, I was told it works with the demo version (also available from their site) though I never tried it. Tim, your textures never cease to amaze me, and now that they've been offset with this hair, they are perfect. When are you going to make male textures???? ;)

I second Kalypso's request on the male textures, I'd really like to see what you can do with those. Melanie
