Hi. I am green as grass when it comes to photography. I take photos with a small digital camera. Some great pics have come out too but how do I get to render the pic at the 11 inch x 14 inch as required for the photography competition and still retain the clarity? Thanks for any help.

try again man, the links work great for me. If you wanna try some resizing options, and retain the image clarity, look up Genuine fractals. They have a demo that's good for 30 uses I think, and I can tell you from experience that it will enlarge images f'in beautifully man. click the link no, its not a fractal generator. what browser you using? Those links up there work with IE, Netscape, Opera and Mozilla.. maybe it was just a breif glitch or something.

I am having a bit of trouble with other links too. It might be that the net in Australia is a bit busy right now. I will try again later. Thanks for you help. I'm actually having trouble getting images on any of the Renderosity links...all i'm getting at the moment are those irritating little boxes with the "x" in them, most frustrating!

Hoo boy... I can hardly stop laughing ... you guys ..... heh heh... My server was sick but they fixed it now so hopefully i can come up with an entry for the photo comp. Fingers crossed now.

Where are you entering the picture? I didn't think the forum here has a 11 x 14 requirement. Are you starting from 640 x 480 pixels? Hmm. I use this trick. Load the image into a image program resize it and sharpen it. Copy the image. Go back to the original image. Resize it also. Paste the sharpened image as a new layer. Adjust the opacity of both layers to show the best image. Or you could try printing the picture and scanning it at the correct resolution. Bsteph

I think the 11X14 requirement is only for the calendar contest?

That's what I was trying to enter. I can't work out what the other contest is. It just takes me back to the calendar contest when I click on it. duh....

I use Irfan View most of the time to resize images. It has a B-spline altenative to resize, almost as good as S-spline (another good program), but not freeware as Irfan View is. Irfan is very easy to use because you can just copy and paste images to it. After resizing they needs some sharpening, but so it is for other programs too. I have tried Genuine Fractals too, it is very good, but more difficult to handle.And it does not work in PSP only in Photoshop.
