Decided to try and mwke my original quick render into a proper image, and try using transparency on squares to give depth, did it work. This is the back view of Sms3d little cottage.

The greatest part of wisdom is learning to develop  the ineffable genius of extracting the "neither here nor there" out of any situation...."

Glad to see that you reworked it. I know this is going to sound stupid, but seems that in the original the hatchling looked more like it was crying, or sad and offended. Maybe the head was cocked to the side a little more or something...

A really delightful image!! Love the pot on the head approach. I've read that will protect better than armour. :) Irene

triceratops2001, its the hatchling dragon from Daz. he's got a daddy there as well, and watch for the next image, the revenge of the dragon.

and BTW namja1955, I agree with you he doesn't seem so sad, but the only thing I changed for the dragon is lights. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

chohole, I like this one a lot better! I don't mean anything was wrong with the first one, but you are right this definetly has more depth to it :) And I agree with Irene, a pot on the head, does protect better :) Nice work!

I can't remember how the original went, but here the light is strongest on the hatchling's head and fades towards the tail - maybe that makes it look as if she* is lunging forward aggresively rather than pulling back defensively? Richard H * well, how do you know the adult hatchling is daddy not mummy?

You've already exceeded anything I can hope to do. I agree that the crying hatchling seemed the best image. This hatchling doesn't appear to be looking at the girl. I think he should be looking at her. Great work.

Is that a teardrop by the hatchling's eye? That's what made me think he was crying. Nice work, looking good. When I was a kid my older sister told me to put a piepan in my pants to cover my butt when I was going to get a spanking. It worked, they were laughing so hard they gave up the idea. So utensils DO in fact protect better than armuor. 8^) Marque
