Very nice. I like the dove. The falls reminds me of El Yunque in Puerto Rico

I liked the first picture for its composition, dirty looks, all those silhouettes and the textures... Yet, taking the risk of sounding ridiculous, I'll say that the shining of the sun through those transvers and parallel shadow takes my eye far than necessary... ...Well, I couldn't help... :) The second pic is very nice too for its almost abstract composition, suiting minimal color combination, and the birdy caught with a handsome profile... Nice... May I share an image of mine after this..?

Dates back from the summer of 1993... I cannot remember the camera (possibly a SLR Minolta of manual type), but the lens was a 200 mm tele. The film was Kodacolor Gold (100 ASA), and was lab processed and lab printed... Then I scanned it a few months ago and tried some minimal post-work in PSP 6.02...

I love the last one of the waterfall but I think just the bottom half would make an even better image... How did you do the first if that's you?? wierd but I like it : )

doruksal, your image wasn't there just now! I like the nice simple contrast & low key colour.

I think all of these pictures are beautiful for some reasons. First- Textures, shades and space. Second - Incredibly minimalistic but so nice. Third - DOF and colors. The first is my favourite above all. Dorksul - I would ask you where is that lab, but I think it's a bit far from my home. :-) Nice work. Jordy- I HATE those pigeons, they dirt all my balcony. :-)

I really like that first one - it's got that Millennium style going on (the TV show). :) - darkpen

Kind of interesting to see that no matter where you live, the pigeons live there, too - and apparently like to pose for pictures, LOL! I like the light coming through the gauzy curtains in the first one, it creates a beautiful effect. The falls are gorgeous as is, and I also think would make two cool pics, one of the falls and one of the rocks below.

Thankyou all for your comments. Thanks also to Doruk & Mike for their Pidgeon pics, great both of them! Caledonia, you sound very well travelled for such a young lassie! DP, I haven't seen Millenium, but I will look out for it. Bev ~ Self-Timer and running outside to stand in the right spot before the shutter clicks! Scent, have to agree about the pidgeon poo, but BSteph's solution is a bit harsh!! LOL Bev and Sweet, thanks, I'll look at more post work and cropping of the falls image... :-)>

I have locked into the first image, I cant take my eyes off it....its haunting and graceful......Im going back to look again......but in my limited opinion, the curtains the reflection everything....wonderful!

Caledonia ( ) posted Wed, 23 January 2002 at 11:15 AM

I haven't traveled near as much as I want to. I was only in Puerto Rico for five days. I took a month and drove from New Hampshire to Texas, Arizona, Las Vegas, Death Valley, San Francisco, San Diego, Grand Canyon and back home. Did that in november. Will have pictures soon, hopefully

JordyArt ( ) posted Wed, 23 January 2002 at 3:40 PM

phew - Did you have time to stop and take pictures?!? (",)

Caledonia ( ) posted Thu, 24 January 2002 at 3:54 PM

I was constantly stopping to take pictures! Although now that I am back and have seen the shots, I wish I had taken more!
