"Doc Mojo" sent me a link to some free terrains he had made, as a sample, in MojoWorld. MojoWorld evidently can create and export 3D files, but the best thing about it is that these are DEM files. That's good because DEM files can be imported into Vue 4 in the same way as a regular object, but unlike a regular object, they can also be edited in the Terain Editor. These are really cool, I have to say. I was wrestling with the new patch alot of today, so I only had time for a quickie picture, but this is a part of what you can download at the link above. However, some of the files are huge, but they load into Vue pretty quickly, I'd say. I didn't edit these at all, but they do need to be scaled vertically after loading. They come in DEM, Terragen and MojoWorld files. The MojoWorld files will only work in Mojo though, but the Terragen files obviously can be used in Terragen too. Check 'em out!

Oh yes, and there are also some PNG files which can be used as heightfields for terrains there as well.

Well Mike that is pretty cool, I have to admit I am not up on the Mojo thing, and looks like it is time to learn some more. But it is very interesting, I am still trying to learn Vue, so my hands are kind of full, but I will definately go look and examine it more thourouhly. Thanks Mike for the update. Sharen

Very cool, Mike! I haven't felt any personal attraction to MojoWorld, but this does remind me of a lot of fun I had creating terrains for Terragen. It was like exploring a new world each time. :) I often wish that Vue had some kind of indicator for the camera in the terrain editor, so one could position the camera to a specific area, or build the terrain based on where the camera is focused. When Guitta showed the screen shots from version 1, I noticed Vue had a camera indicator when it first got started! Where'd it go for v.2? Boo-hoo! Maybe if I cry loud enough, they'll bring it back for v.5? ;)

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I have tried to import one of there, the volcano one in particular, the large dem, and after the import everything is flat.

No, you're not doing anything wrong. What you have to do is to adjust its vertical scale considerably to see some detail. For that matter, the picture I made above was with that volcano and the "rivers" combined, though I put it all under water.
