Sorry folks, my hosting company just pulled the plug on my site. No mail, no FTP, No warning, No explaination. I HAD two supposedly unlimited accounts to feed my site's 35GB / month appetite. SOOO nerd3d will be down for a few days until I get setup with a dedicated server. This ain't happening again! Just so y'all know www.under-host.com claims "unlimited" bandwidth for $35 a month. This is as usual a lie. BEWARE any site that claims unlimited anything. When the say "Unlimited" they have told the first lie and you know thay can't be trusted. Ouch. Sorry to hear. It may be a little late (especially given the current situation), but you may want take a look at the link provided, even if it's only a glance. It's a rather large forum dedicated to web hosting. People post opinions, reports, experiences, etc. from their hosts as well as hosts have a forum for advertising and such (if I remember correctly). Overall, a good site. It turned me away from a few potential hosts after reading the overwhelming negative opinions and horror stories about some of these companies.

Oh boy wot a bummer, hope you get sorted soon. Can't do without your site, its one of the must haves.

The greatest part of wisdom is learning to develop  the ineffable genius of extracting the "neither here nor there" out of any situation...."

My commiseration's Nerd. I have seen so many posts similar to this in recent times that I begin to wonder if any of these companies tell the truth. What I don't understand is that this "false advertising" is not regulated and penalised where you are. In Ireland if a company gives out false, misleading or untrue information, or if the information is packaged in such a way as to create a false or misleading impression among consumers (i.e. the truth hidden in the small print), the company can be reported to our Advertising Standards Authority and Consumer Affairs Regulator. The ASA and CAR can prosecute and fine the company if the complaint is upheld. Apart from the financial penalties, the bad publicity surrounding such cases is usually enough to deter most companies from hoodwinking consumers. Sometimes, if they operate under licence, that can be withdrawn as part of the penalty, putting them out of business. Not a bad system and complaining does not cost anything. Regards STORM
