Subject: Hey Bev - plant ID!?

Any idea what this thing is? I'm in the southern US, and don't remember my mom ever deliberately planting it, it just appeared, multiplies (prolifically) by itself, doesn't die back in winter (obviously) and grows easily 8-10 feet tall if left alone.... There's a bigger version of it in my gallery, if this is too small. Thanks for any info, I've been curious about it for years! :-)

looks like green spider eggs to me. Maybe the first real Spiderman will be a result from these radioactive eggs.
