For about a week I've been unable to see any thumbnails in the forums or any images in Marketplace. I thought it might be my video card but I tried my big boy system and got the same results. Freestuff images are fine, but the rest are are just x's. No problems on other sites. Anybody else have this problem, and any ideas how I fix it? Thanks. Pinto

It must be cookie related. We require cookies at Renderosity now. If you have a cookie cruncher running or your Internet Browser is not setup to allow cookies these are the symptoms you will see. Oh. Yahoo also has got awkward recently with people who refuse cookies.

I had this problem, I was using IE6 (With WinXP Pro). I had all my settings set to allow cookies but could still not view images. I had to resort to installing Netscape Navigator 6.2 just to view Renderosity and images. This works fine. As I am running IE6 with allow all cookies, and this is the only web site that gives this problem, I am now under the impression that its renderosity that has some sort of problem with the cookie. None of my colleagues can view images (they are also using XP pro and IE6) and have also had to resort to using Netscape just to view Renderosity images.

Cookies were the answer. I have no problens with images now. However, I was very suprised , based on the MAJOR privacy issures involving Doubleclick, that this site is using it. Pinto

Clint, I have no problem with you doing what you need to do in this regard, but the thread doesn't say anything about Doubleclick which was my only concern in my comment. As you know DoubleClick Inc., is the Internet's largest advertising company and most accomplished Spyware. I can't image that it has anything to do with preventing bandwidth leeching. I suppose it helps to pay the bills. Regards Pinto

I'm also running IE6 and XP pro and i have the same problem all cookies are set to on, please is there anyway round this as i know its not a cookie problem

You need to alter the cookie settings in the "Privacy" tab of Internet Options.

Check in "Override Auatomatic cookie handling".

Check in "Allow" under "First Party Cookies", and "Always Allow Session Cookies".

That should do it.

thanks jeff but i found out another reason for it for some reason my date settings were wrong and my pc was set to 2006 which seemed to stop the cookies from working as they should hence no pictures i wonder if this could be the reason for anybody else having this problem

It's possible, that could render the cookie out of date. About doubleclick.net, that's a third party cookie easily disabled without interfering with the first party ones that are needed.
