PhilC, that is so cool, you know an artist Sandro Del Prete, actually painted a picture almost just like that, they called it impossible scenes. Sharen

I was just playing around with this. Its a single solid model and an unretouched screenshot.

You know in the CR2 file where the hidden value can be either 1 or 0 well I tried putting in -1 and it kinda bent things.

I'm working on how to apply this to more complex structures.

Hidden -1? Very amusing ;-) But it's a neat perspective trick, as long as there are no tell-tale shadows.

Ow, Phil, you hurt my brain!

That's pretty cool. I don't know how you've done this, because it's technically not possible. But i suggest you have had a fight with the camera-angle, which you won. SHARKEY

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Sun, 27 January 2002 at 4:20 PM

I've seen this done with real-world models and photographs. The photographer used an old camera trick called forced perspective. Escher would be proud.

geep ( ) posted Sun, 27 January 2002 at 4:34 PM

Let's see ya do it with shadows!!! ;=] Phil .... PHIL ........ Oh Philllllllll???????????

Very Escher-like. I've admired Escher's art for ages. I wonder if more complex objects would translate to Poser and maybe even Bryce?

geep ( ) posted Sun, 27 January 2002 at 7:57 PM

... and just when we were startin' to get real close to reality with Poser 'n Bryce .................... ;=]

You got some shadows in there, so I reckon we'll have to ascribe it to a major warp in the space-time continuum ;-)

Hi Phil, from one warped mind to another - I really like this!!!! And I thought I was pushing Poser to the limits! Great use of textures!!!
