Now that I have attention (grin), I have struggled too many hours (and am just a beginner) trying to put my wife's pose into Poser (sounds funny, huh?). I think the human body, well, at least my wife's ability, is too much for Poser. So, here is her pic, a study in symmetry (sp?). Let me know if someone is up to the task of creating a pose (to prove it can be done) or if it is impossible. Tks for looking.

SPIRESMEDIA ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 12:00 AM

Is this close?

SPIRESMEDIA ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 12:58 AM

WOW, that was fast! lol....pushes her crummy pose to the side ;o)

Jaager ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 1:03 AM

It is much faster if you use JCJ.

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 1:06 AM

Well, Mizz, I'm with you! Let me say it in my best Pushtan (errr...Afganeese), "Damn, that was fast!" Now I know how much learning I have to do. I got close to Jaager's pose, but got disappointed. But, it was about 5 hours! (and I didn't even do the hands!) Not to be critical, but one of my problems is the same as I see here...shoulders too rounded. Otherwise, given some lighting and the right hair, pretty much right on! Gee, Jaager, you must know your body moves!

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 1:08 AM

JCJ? Since it was a symmetrical pose, I made use of symmetry option, but what is JCJ?

Jaager ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 1:21 AM

Joint controlled joints. If I bend the abdomen, the chest moves an identical amount. Buttock - thigh also moves - until buttock gets to its limit (-40) and the thigh goes on alone. collar:shoulder - except down bend. I did not do the fingers - my pose is heel of hand not balls of fingers. Hand would take a bit longer. I have presets fot the fingers, but none bending back.

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 1:33 AM

Well, guess you lost me there! (grin) Is that a setting? Did you turn limits off? What about IK? How do you know -40 is buttok limit? Sorry. Please send pz2 (right?) file to me...I will work on render and give credit to you if I can be satisfied with results. (chuck_n_michelle@mindspring.com) :)

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 1:38 AM

Jeep: No, I am the lucky one. You see, she is 15 years younger than me, pretty/sexy, and a SWEETIE! She did exhibit some jealously over my remarks about Victoria's figure so I decided to use one of her photos in a pose...but was unable to do justice.

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 1:46 AM

Oops, Geep (grin)

Cin- ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 1:49 AM

Off Topic, but your wife kinda looks like Tanya Donelly in that picture... if you even know who that is... lol

Jaager ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 1:53 AM

I hate IK! That it defaults on for the legs, is a real grip with Poser 4.

Schlabber ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 5:21 AM

well Jaager - you beat me ... lol ... however - it looks great ... and Chuck ...: Please don't call me like this ... there are enough people who do also great poses - I'm (gladly) not the only one ... but I might will do this pose also ... just to compare it ... no contest of course :o) Jaager: I re-saved the figures - gladly the IK is off then - I know it don't works for everyone - but for me it does ... :o)

ronknights ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 6:59 AM

Chuck, your wife is beautiful. You are lucky to have each other! Obviously each of you sees "the beauty" in the other. Grin Ron

Jaager ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 12:22 PM

I have figures saved as PZ3 files that come in with no IK, they are Millie versions. Lately, I have been working with Mike and I have not gotten him to a workable condition yet, so no PZ3. Chuck, that you asked about IK suggests that you are dragging limbs, rather than posing with the dials. Phyically moving limbs on screen is a slow, difficult and usually unsatisfatory way to do a pose. I find that selecting a group is usually faster when clicked on screen than when picked off of the list, but that is all I do there. IK - off. Pose using dials.

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 2:27 PM

First, thanks all for finding the message interesting enough to spend time with it! Yes, Jaager, I started off (after reading the book) moving by dragging limbs, but someone in one of my forum questions suggested I use the dials...been doing that ever since...much easier. As to IK, per a suggestion from, hmmmm, Little_Dragon (?), leaving IK on the legs was the only way I could get a butt cheek to "cock" (one lower than the other)...but mostly, I leave it off. I've read your message to me, Jaager...does that mean I need to obtain Millie somehow?

ronknights ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 3:11 PM

Chuck, Millie is Victoria, Vickie.

OK - and here is my poses-version of this pose (sorry Chuck, but Vicky can't compare with your wife in realism :o)

"sorry Chuck, but Vicky can't compare with your wife in realism" -> Oh - before this comes out somehow wrong ... that's of course a compliment for your wife ;o)

Chuck, no, you do not need Millie for this. As far as poses go, Millie is Vicki. The difference is with textures. For morphs and poses, there is no difference. You can do the hip shift without IK, hip zrot and buttock Side-Side.

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 8:17 PM

Well, one thing is for sure...I AM a newbie :) Didn't even know what Millie was (errr, is). Good thing I can laugh at myself (and in public, too!). I (thought I) tried all the dials on the hip/buttock, but guess I never did the right combination (Doh!). Now, I'll have to copy some text and paste it for my notebook I have started. Actually, two notebooks that are about full (one for Victoria and the other for the P4 figures)...tutorials and such that I have printed out for reference, indexed and all (I'm so anal). Once again, thanks for all your comments and help. Oh, one more thing, I caught my wife smiling as she read some of the comments about her over my shoulder. Made her feel good.

I listened to all her clips on "Love Songs for Underdogs". She sounds pretty good.

ronknights ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 9:02 PM

Chuck, there is apparently more than one Millie. Vicky was the first Millie, then.... Well I got a bit lost in that story. I'm sure someone else can explain. Ron

Jaager ( ) posted Mon, 28 January 2002 at 9:58 PM

Before the figure was released, DAZ floated out information about their new Millenium woman figure - no name. In the forum speculation and buzz at the time "Millie" was used as the nick name. When they released the figure - surprise, it was late - DAZ named the figure "Victoria". Vic, Vikki, Vicki, Vicky - lots of nick names, but no longer Millie. Since the name was no longer necessary to designate the figure, but which figure it referred to, was widely known, I adopted it for my remapped version of the figure. Since I use the figure exclusively, files that come from me will have that name, even if they refer to morphs or poses, and are as valid for Vic as they are for Millie.

Jaeger, the only thing about Millie is that many of us will still use Millie to refer to Vicky. This is the first time in a year that I was aware or your involvement with Millie.

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Tue, 29 January 2002 at 6:51 AM

Yeah, sure, Geep! (grin)

Cin- ( ) posted Tue, 29 January 2002 at 8:45 AM

Love Songs for Underdogs is a good album, but she's been around for a long time... she was an original member of Throwing Muses, the Breeders, and Belly... in case you hadn't noticed... I really like Tanya Donelly... grin

geep ( ) posted Tue, 29 January 2002 at 4:00 PM

... there is a resemblance, no? (they are both very beautiful!) ('course, that's just my VHO) ;=] P.S. In the photo, she looks deep in thought, was she? (just curious)

Probably was concentrating on my posing instructions (grin). She can have the sexiest smile naturally, but trying to reporduce it has become a waste of time, so I mostly resort to closed lips (or slightly parted lips). So, she was probably thinking about getting the pose (and symmetry) correct.
