Select the whole imported poser figure ( in Bryce ) and select the little "e" menu button or the edit, it will bring up the smoothing box, select (solid during boolean rendering) in the bottom left corner, and then set the poser figure to be a positive, then the sphere (the hole ya want) to be a negative and then group them.
Do atleast one thing a day that scares the hell outta ya!!
Keep trying, look for a tutorial that you can understand when they describe boolean rendering....try some at www.brycetech.com If the body is positive and the sphere is negative, they WILL create a hole when grouped - did you check that they were lined up correctly? sorry but they can get out of alignment and leave you wondering why its not working.... don't give up!!!!
Also, it's very important that you check "solid when boolean rendering". You might want to make sure that each part of your poser figure is set to positive and solid. Like Kate says, check your alignment, look from top view, side view, etc. Make sure both objects are grouped or it won't work. If you already have your figure where you want it, save a memory dot, start your render, let it make a pass, then stop it. Do a plop render where your "hole" is, then do a zoom to selection. You can get up close and really see exactly where your "hole" is. Hope this helps...it really will work!!
There are a lot of things worse than dying, being afraid all the time would be one.

ok...i have been trying to get a hole through a person...but am having no luck. i tried the half sphere trick way of doing it, which didn't work at all. i also can't figure out how to do it in poser. is there a way to do this? i just need to make a hole in the center of a person, so you can see through them...please help, or point me to somewhere that would explain how to do this, thank you.
