Subject: modelling Poser clothing

grahamjames ( ) posted Sun, 27 January 2002 at 5:21 PM · edited Sun, 02 February 2025 at 12:57 AM

I know this has probably been asked before but I would like to be able to model clothing and accessories for Poser.

I have tried the Rhino demo and found it to be quite intuitive with a steady learning curve but it doesn't offer much in the way of mesh tools.

Is there a modeller out there which is as straight forward to learn that would allow me to work on the actual Poser meshes rather than have me recreate them (badly) as nurbs ?

Thanx in advance for any info - and please bear in mind that I am not a wealthy (nor very talented) man.
Also this is for recreational purposes not business.

... which was replaced by "Carrara" by Eovia. Carrara has a mesh modeler that allows modeling clothing that can be used in Poser. You can d/l a (FREE) trial version of Carrara from Eovis's web site. Note: the trial version does NOT allow you to save anything so don't try and create any masterpieces with it; but it does allow you a nice "test drive." cheers, dr geep ;=]

There are a number of free or very cheap modelling programs out there that can do what you want. Please follow the link to a site which gives the most comprehensive list I've ever come across. This question has been asked before, and the general conclusion is that nobody can agree on which is the best program to use or learn, its personal. There's a very clear tutorial on the process over at SAMS3D Good luck. Happy modelling, and let us all know if you come up with anything regards peejay
