This is Poser 4.0.3 running on my Athlon. Sorry if you all already know all about this but I've not come across it before. I was kinda "fiddling about" in the Poser.ini file (not recommended) and I turned off the Meta User Interface. Thinking laterally... could this solve any of the problems we have with crashes due to memory issues? I mean, it may use up less of the memory allocated to Poser with the UI so leaving more for "Thinkering" and "Renderering". Oh... Please, Please dont go "fiddling about" like I did unless you really know what yer doin'!! :O

Actually you can get here using a hot key command from Poser. I don't remember what it is you type as I never use it but this is - unless I am mistaken - a throwback to Poser 2 (I believe) layout. Now if you will save on resourses, I hope someone remembers what it is you are suppose to type in to get to this layout. :o)

yep just type "po2" (no quotes) and you get the Poser 2 interface. "po3" gets you back.

And whilst we are on the hot key subject typing "hair" will aid those Poser users whose overhead is thinning :)

I fiddled about but wasn't able to duplicate your screenshot exactly. I like the ability to have more room to work with my document. But I get lost looking at this layout.

What version of Poser is this? My UI looks completely different.

That is Poser 4.03 I do believe. You can get the Poser 2.0 interface by hitting po2. You get the standard interface back by hitting po3. My screenshots indicate the way Windows XP handles program screens....the blue at the bottom, etc.

Larry Weinberg has said at least once that the hidden Poser 2.0 interface feature will not be continued in future versions. More's the pity.

I've been testing this since yesterday to see if it makes any noticible difference resource-wise. I have not noted a difference - perhaps others will report their findings.

In an earlier thread on the subject, geep reported that Poser (with the old interface enabled)locked up when he loaded a new file.
