heyas; after building the clothing onto the base figure, you need to slice the clothing into body parts to match the base figure. once that is done, you need a zeroed cr2 of the base figure to plug the clothing into. you can make one by loading the base figure in poser, opening the joint editor, and hitting the 'zero figure' button. then save that cr2. strip out the morphs and material stuff, and it's set to plug your clothing into.

Though I cannot type from firsthand knowledge, not being a modeler myself, I have read very good things about PhilC's CD having to do with precisely this. Maybe others can offer more detailed opinions? PhilC's work is certainly excellent. You can have a look at the attached link. There are also some tutorials on this site.So many times I've heard people refer to "slicing up the clothing." I'm just a beginner modeler (I've used Ray Dream Studio, trueSpace, 3D Max), and I have no idea what is meant by "slicing it up." I have such a literal way of thinking, I can only visualize someone taking a shirt and going at it with a meat cleaver. :) I wouldn't even know what tool in the modeling program causes the "slicing" process. This is where I'm completely in the dark. Well, actually, I'm even in the dark with forming the clothing shapes in the first place (did I mention I'm a beginner modeler?). I have such ideas for things, but no understaning of how to make the clothing item shape to the body so it actually looks like a garment. So many people here offer things that look so professional and they make it look so easy, but it's not. I'm just in awe of those folks who can do it. Melanie
It's best to do the "slicing" in your modeling program rather than in Poser or even more difficult by hand with a text editor. I use Lightwave and I do the body parts assignment within Lightwave before it is imported to Poser. I've played with a friend's Poser Pro Pack. If you are seriously considering doing more conformable clothes, then little dragon is correct. With Pro Pack you can just ignore all the tutorials on the web and start creating your own conforming geometry as much as you want. It really simplifies the process exponentially.
I'd suggest a quick look at http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=347959 - it's in the Amapi Forum, but it is really all Poser. The model could've been made in any modeling app. And if you can afford it (it's a very fair price), buy PhilCs CD - it's all his secrets about clothes making, and we all know his stuff.
