An hour ago the FedEX guy dropped off my brand new, direct from San-Diego, shrink-wrapped copy of Carrara. After using the demo for the last 3 weeks or so, I cant wait for 5 oclock to arrive so I can head home, install this puppy, and start having some fun. It probably wont be long before I start posting all kinds of questions and, hopefully, at some point I may even have some images to show off. Cheers, Max (a happy camper)

You're welcome to ask all kind of stupid questions here, Max :) Also, don't forget you can make a search in the archives if you want . Very useful ! To do this, go to the link and click "Search"

Congrats, Max! At first I didn't like it. Then I got the trial version and played with it. Then I bought it. Now I got it. It takes some getting used to ... but doesn't almost everything? I like it! [used to use RDS - now I won't go back!] Let's see what ya can do! cheers, dr geep ;=]

Remember ... "With Poser, all things are possible, and poseable!"

cheers,

dr geep ... :o]

If you ever get frustrated with Carrara, just get the lightwave demo and try to accomplish something with it :-) I'm starting to warm up to Amapi as well. The 5 smoothing modes and tension-setting features are very impressive.

If you plan on using it on that Pismo do yourself a favor & turn off all the 3D "geewiz" features in the prefs. Stuff like drop shadows & zoom look cool for awhile but are taxing on the video chip. Also, I find that if I click on the upper left Carrara icon to "get info" about carrara (after it's launched) that the program seems to be more resonsive (MAC OS 9.0.4). Try it & see if it helps. Now that's a "stupid" answer so don't hesitate on any "stupid" ?'s.

Congrats! I just got Carrara a few weeks ago and am learning it with the help of Carrara 1.0 for Dummies. Have fun!
