Hiya people... I got bored today, so I thought... "You know there are a ton of Vicky elves and fairy pictures out there... but what about some of those other fantasy races..." so I scaled Vicky and Mike down to Dwarf size!

It's all just scaling, so it's really easy to recreate... I did apply some of the muscular morphs from V2 and M2 to give them a more buff look, but even with just scaling they look pretty good... not perfect... but still fun...

I was thinking I could make a pose file that would apply the scaling to the figure if anyone would be interested.

I'm interested. I was fooling around with scaling and magnets the other day, but my results weren't nearly as nice. But where would I find a good transmapped beard prop for Vicky?

I am interested, but is there any chance you could include a readme that lists the scaling so that I could duplicate the scales for clothes? ;)

I like them. How do you save scaling to a pose file? It never works for me. It only saves the pose and morphs, but I can't figure out how to save the xyz scaling percentages in a pose. I would greatly appreciate knowing this tidbit of info. Thanks in advance.

Very nice work! - I'd enjoy having them, too, but any help with clothing them would be appreciated, as well! (Can Scaling be saved as a morph target......?)

Well you can't save scaling as a morph target, or even as a pose by saving it as a POSE... but you can take the info from your .cr2 file and stuff it into a pose file... same way you can include a morph target in a pose file... it's just a matter of know what to look for and where to put it... just cut and paste from the .cr2 to a pz2 file. I'm going to make up the pose files here in a little bit... and I'll include the scaling info so that you can fit clothing too... Fair warning... I tried to fit clothing, but the results aren't the greatest... so you'll have to do some tweaking to get it to look right.

Do you think the arms are too long? I'm not sure about that... I didn't adjust them in the first go 'round... so tell me which looks better... the one on the left or the one on the right... then I'll make up the pose file to apply the scaling all in one fell swoop..

jstro ( ) posted Sun, 10 February 2002 at 4:42 PM

The one on the right. That's pretty cool. I made a set of dwarves out of the P3 nudes back in my P3 days. Need to dig them out. jon

The one on the right is definitely better, but I think the arms could be still a bit shorter...?

The thing with scaling without morphing is that you can get some weird lumps... it's more noticable on Michael, because of the way the mesh is... Victoria's arms are a little more forgiving... you can see it here... I set his arms to the same as hers are in the above picture, but you get that weird ridge at the top of his arm... I've managed to get a slightly better result by leaving the shoulder at 100% but scaling down the forearm further...

mabfairyqueen ( ) posted Sun, 10 February 2002 at 5:14 PM

The shorter arms look better. I think they hit about the right spot, mayber a bit shorter like Eowyn said. Fingertips should hit about mid thigh, that's close to what you've got there. Elbow should hit the topmost part of the hipbone level, also close to what ya got. In regards to the copy paste to get the scaling. sigh I was afraid of that. I hate hacking into cr2's and pz2's. Do it all the time, but sure do hate it. Thanks for the info on that. I'll have to see if cr2edit has a shortcut for such a thing. It probably does. I love cr2edit for it's time saving shortcuts.

Like evey one else I think it is a great idea I would love access to your end results!!I have tried too but nothing like your effects. Elves are over done and over rated but dwarves are harder to acheive, getting the clothes to fit that is a real chlange too. Any forward motion on either front would make several project I have up coming a whole lot easier. I am an old RPGer from way back mostly dwarves and Gnomes.

This picture popped into my head while I was screwing around with the pose file... so I had to stop and make this... heh... now I'm going to go watch TV for a bit, 'cause my head hurts from squinting at my monitor... *then* I will get back to work on the scaling pose file... I probably won't get it done before tomorrow though, but I'll upload it as soon as I can.

>>>regards to the copy paste to get the scaling. *sigh* I was afraid of that Actually, if you have access to Morphmanager (or the mac replica), you can do it without editing the file itself (though it isn't as easy as it should be) The attached link has directions Jaager posted regarding a similar question I had. PS Those are much better than my feeble attempts at creating a dwarf. Look forward to seeing it made available, cin

Michael's texture is by Anton Kisiel... you can get that one at DAZ... :) Thanks for the link tgtads, I'm trying that right now... I'll let you all know how it turns out. :)
