Subject: A little lighting help please.

I'm using wall with window from window pack one and shining a light through it onto the floor to simulate moonlight. I'm not looking for volumetric light, i just want a shadow of the window panes on the floor. The bottom of the window is 12 small panes of glass and the top is one full pane. When the light shines, all that is rendered is one big bright spot on the floor. Ive checked all of the cast shadows to no avail. It was working once, then when I came back the next day it wasn't working and I don't know why. Ive even gone so far as to delete the section of wall and replace it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe the light intensity is too great and is blowing out the shadows of the window frame on the floor? Sorry I'm not much help ...

Select the light and set the size of the shadowmapsize to 1024 or higher .you find it at the right side where the dials are.And at another dial you can set the shadowstrength make shure you have the " cast shadow" button for the light selected.

I re-checked the cast shadow button on all parts of the wall and on the light, all were on. The map was at 250 so I changed it to 1200, still nothing, the light is only at about 75% brightness so I don't think the shadows are blown out. I am moving on to pulling out my hair to see if that helps.

How about the "shadow" dial for the lights? For a strong shadow it would be set at "1". (Already tried the hair thing here too -- it doesn't help!) :) Lisa

yep, shadow dial is at 1. The thing that is killin me is that it was working. I know im not crazy because my wife saw it. Then I lost power at work and now it doesn't work at all.
