What? There's a Bryce forum, you say? Why yes! I'm having a problem importing my spiral perm hair into bryce, which is a huge drag, as I wanted to get better acquainted with bryce. Maybe you can help? Hell, I'll just tell you here: The obj loads in to almost done, then it says "Out of memory error." I've tried a bunch of neophyte fixes, like scaling down the piece before exporting etc. Tried other formats too. Nothing will get this into bryce. 3dsmax has no trouble, nor does poser...so what gives? -Darth_Logice

Are you using Bryce 3D? Bryce 4 handles large models much better than Bryce 3D. Scaling the model doesn't change the size of the file. One needs to change the number of data points. With Bryce 3D, I would run into out of memory error whenever I tried to load a model more than 10Meg for .dxf formats. (I wasn't loading that large of models in .obj format). This was on a Pentium Pro 200 with 128 Meg of RAM and tons of hard drive space. I haven't run into a limit with Bryce 4.

Some model makers seem to have no idea about economy in mesh size. E.g. I once found half a megabyte of .OBJ file format used to define such a simple shape as a baseball bat.
