What a cutie. I have some doves (4) that completely rule my house when I let them out.

Godzilla is too big now for the monitor now but he still sleeps with his Beany Baby! (he's 15lbs now!)

Hiram ( ) posted Fri, 15 February 2002 at 4:02 PM

Would that have made him a monitor lizard?

nfredman ( ) posted Fri, 15 February 2002 at 4:23 PM

Thomas! He's so cute! You know, i have a blue-point siamese kitty that comes and sits on my CPU box on my left, just withing skritching reach, when i'm at my computer at home. :^) It's neat to see other folks' pets joining them at the computer, too. (They probably just want equal time!)

Skygirl ( ) posted Fri, 15 February 2002 at 4:27 PM

IGOHIGH, THAT ANIMAL...IS IT A LIVE AND WALKING AROUND YOUR HOUSE...IM JUST ASKING !!!!!!

whoopdat ( ) posted Fri, 15 February 2002 at 4:42 PM

Lovely pics of the various animals there. :) I only have the standard cats and dog thing now. Years ago I had an iguana, but I gave him away when he got too big for the terrarium I had him in. I couldn't let him roam the house with the cats (no dog then) since I wasn't sure what would happen, but I didn't think it was right keeping him in the tank either. Oh well. Now it's three cats and a dog, and three kittens and one mother cat being fostered for a while longer.

Cin- ( ) posted Fri, 15 February 2002 at 5:05 PM

My kitty died... :( I was sad... so no more pets for me now...

igohigh ( ) posted Fri, 15 February 2002 at 5:07 PM

Skygirl: Yup! I don't belive in cooping up animals, I guess that's my two attempts to keep a parrot lead to them flying away ;-( Hey you 'bird brains', keep those wings clipped!!!!! (p.s. skygirl, don't worry, Godzilla is paper trained but prefers to wait till I get home and do his 'buisness' in the garden outside ;-)

pokeydots ( ) posted Fri, 15 February 2002 at 5:22 PM

Love the parrot, its an orange wing, or is it a bluefront? I have an African grey named boomer, who can make a sailor blush with his bad words! lol Sad thing though, I just took him to the vets today, and he has a growth on his leg that might be cancer :( He has to have surgery next thursday. I have had him since he was a baby. I use to raise birds, I had a pair of Goffin cockatoos, that had 2 babies for me, before I got out of raising birds, I gave one to the Lady whom I got my grey from, and the other to my nephew, I hand fed them myself and they were very tame :) My son also had an iguana, that was about 3 ft. long, I wasn't to thrilled with that one!

Skygirl: Godzilla wears a catharness and leash outside. Dangerous? Na! he's a vegitarian!! However he is entering his first 'mating season' and being a male I have just learned that I can no longer wear RED! He seems to think I am competing with him for the ladies....ya, like we see 'lady iguanas' around here...silly lizard! Adult iguanas are very much like parrots in that they tend to become attached to only one person and only 'tolerate' others. However, like I said, last week when I was wearing a red shirt and we went outside he suddenly puffed up and 'charged' me. No Problem, I just puffed up and stood my ground....but for now the kids in the neiborhood are off limits, they don't understand as the kids around here all know him but it is for their own good as well as Godzilla's at least untill comes out of mating (in about a month or so I'm told) and then he should return to his old loving self. 'Inside' the house however, he still loves to sit on the back of the chair and have his head scratched untill my hand acks...much like a parrot!

pokeydots ( ) posted Fri, 15 February 2002 at 7:08 PM

igohigh, neat pic :) I'm not scared of iguanas, its just that their nails hurt sometimes :)

Best of wishes to Boomer and a speedy recovery. I know how pets become litteraly 'part of the family' and you must be feeling pretty worried. I spent over $300 when my Green iguana fell ill many years ago but it was too late ;-( she died of "egg-binding". But Boomer looks quite healthy and should be back to chewing up the furniture in No Time!! =:-)

pokeydots ( ) posted Fri, 15 February 2002 at 7:10 PM

lol Thanks igohigh, sorry about your iguana, my sons iguana died after a house fire.

ooops, we must have posted at the same time! House Fire??!! Oh, I know those toooo well, I had one too. Condolences to your son and his iggy. Actually Godzilla goes for daily walks and loves the park around the corner, his nails are naturally trimmed and not sharp at all. Cuban Rock Iguanas are ground dwellers unlike the green species. Heck, I haven't trimmed his nails in nearly 3 years now! (he just turned 4 last Sept)

i have 22 cats and a poodle who thinks HE is a CAT. i'll take a pic with my digital camera when they are eating. that's the only way i can get them all together. i dont breed cats. i just love em'. i love animals. in two weeks, i am going to be a proud mommy of two horses and i cant wait to show everyone! it is a mother and a little baby:-) i've never had horses before. so i've been going to a ranch to learn important things and someone is going to help me for awhile (the guy we are going to buy hay and stuff from) yippie!! that is one of the good things about being out in the sticks now. i'm soooo excited! and my cats are very happy here!

nfredman, I have a cat who highly resembles yours. Lovely cat, very loud! *g* Here is a picture of Tree, he sits usually on the tower, monitor or my shoulder (although I wont let him get away with that anymore-too hefty) mind the mess-that was before the flood...it is an attractive room now....err, sort of. Doesn't Tree look super angry?

nfredman ( ) posted Sat, 16 February 2002 at 12:29 PM

ROFL! Love the pic, rasputina. Tree's got that "You are annoying me with your silly human toys again!" look! He seems beset by all the stuff! Hey, it's just as well people can't usually see into the rooms where we do our computer stuff! My housemate has a kind of cockpit she's created with 2 computer desks, 1 regular desk, and 4 CPUs, 3 screens, and a bunch of routers, printers, and STUFF... i'm afraid to go in there to pick up the dozens of empty Pepsi bottles, LOL! Much less get my printouts. ((groan)) Sometimes i would love to sneak into computer geeks' houses and take snapshots of the weird things on their desks. What would i see?!

melanie ( ) posted Sun, 17 February 2002 at 9:57 AM

Cinnamon, they're adorable! Way back when I was in the 8th grade, I had a rabbit, but we had to leave him in California when we moved back to Oregon. That was 1000 years ago. All my life I've had hamsters, cats, dogs, turtles, fish, birds, even sea monkeys (brine shrimp). I don't think I could live in a petless household. A friend of mine has had all sorts of lizards, snakes, insects (even a scorpion) and right now she has two wolf hybrid dogs (the crawley things belonged to her 12-year-old son), and she recently added 3 cats. And I thought I had a menagerie! :) Melanie
