Hi all, this is a scene i'm working on. Have it about done, but need help with the lighting. If I use the universal type lightning, cannot place it directly under the fire to light up the cave. Using the spot light I can, but only the top of the cave is lit. Any ideas. (This is using the spot light). Thanks in advance.

Robin

This second pic is with the universal lights. As you can see, it lights up the whole cave, but also the raptor.

I would start switching of all global lights, start with one spot in the cave, and add more as needed.and play with the angle of the spotlight and the falloff.and perhaps at last one global light

Hey, I recognize that! :)) What we did for the jetty lights in the Village was put 4 spots around the light itself. I'd think you could do the same around the fire. Set your distance start at 0 and distance end at...... oh, maybe 4, (remember to take shadows off in properties), then use a few infinite lights set low to get some dim lighting in. I've been thinking about making another light set for the cavern..... I'll bump the priority up on my list. In the meantime, HTH. Lights are fun aren't they? ~judith~

Thanks for the help. Was working on it some more tonite and added extra spotlights around the fire. Will have it ready to upload sometime tomorrow. Judith - yeah, lights are REAL fun. lol Love the cavern, and have a couple more uses for it. Purchased it as I needed a "home" for Oolan and Zondar. Will let you all know when it's done. Robin

Please do! I love to see renders of stuff we've done, I don't get out to surf the galleries much.
