Subject: To all who would be artists

To all you who have been hurt by the harsh words attacking individuals and poser in general. Know that "artist" is just a word. Do what makes you happy. Be proud of what you put into your art, whether large or small. Do not let the petty words of some small individuals take that away from you. Remember, there will always be those who will heap undo insuls upon you, let their words fall upon deaf ears. If you spend your life trying to please everyone, your life will be empty, and you will have pleased no one. John Stroo

Yep, no one can tell you who you are and there is no set definition of that word anymore.

As a song I grew up with once said: "You can't please everyone, so ya gotta...please yourself!" A lesson my own parents taught me well when they blasted me for taking a 'Computer Science' course and said I was "too dumb to learn such things"; I graduated at the Top of the Class!. I've since been titled "Senior Field Tech" by two companies and spent 6 years training and certifying technicians for Sharp Electronics Corp. (until they decided "training is not cost effective for a manufacturer")

Great advise and a special thanks from a real newbie that is just finding the joy of 3D art... It'll take awhile but I'm doing it for me and not what someone else might judge as good or not... Thanks again

Just remember Andy Warhol and the picture of the soup can. I can remember looking at a pile of garbage on the ground and admiring the way in which it was arranged (was stone sober too). Art as is beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The "Mona Lisa" is, after all, a bunch of colored dirt mixed with cheap oil on a tiny swatch of cheap canvas. But Leonardo enjoyed doing it and it shows..... Scarab
