Subject: I Apologies to anyone who may have thought I don't like some Artists

Boytronic ( ) posted Sun, 17 February 2002 at 1:52 PM · edited Sun, 24 November 2024 at 7:53 PM

I wrote an threat last night, thinking that this way people could get an answer they way i would liked. When I logged in this morning, I got an IM saying that what i've wrote is to put some work down. I don't wanna do that and i guess people misunderstood my sence. The question only is why do i get the feeling that some people here thinking they are better and why do i get the feeling about arroganz. Well i guess i have to apologies for those thread but people might think I was against some artists. But i don't understand that people get so much insulting against other people. Have a nice day all at here

i know and i don't wanna do that...just tried to put my opinion on here :))

People can "act" arrogant but unless you take something personally, they can't make you feel inadequate (or any other emotion). Short of a direct insult that is but even then, who says the opinion has to make a diffence to you? There are various degrees of ability here. I can "feel" inadequate when I look at LaurieS's (just one of my favorite Artists here) work or I can simply admire her talent and strive to be better in my own way.

Boytronic, please don't take this as a personal criticism, but the word "threat" youve used a couple of times is a pretty negative one in English. From your context, I think you probably mean "thread" which is the term we use for a string of messages here. ( as you used it in your fifth sentence above. ) "Threat" would mean intimidating another by suggesting to deliberately cause them harm. I'm assuming English is not your native language. You do a good job in expressing yourself, but one or two minor errors like that can cause others to completely mistake your tone & intent of your message. Again, I'm not saying this to criticise you, just to point out a possible mistake. I couldn't express myself nearly as well in any language other than my own.

Yes, use "Thread" instead of "Threat" ;-)

shadowcat ( ) posted Sun, 17 February 2002 at 4:36 PM

Oooooooo.... thread, now that makes sense. I didn't think he meant threat (the context didn't work) just didn't know what he was saying.

Boytronic ( ) posted Sun, 17 February 2002 at 5:09 PM

well guys your right and english isn't my native language but i guess you wouldn't understand me if i would posting something in my language. well i just tried to put my own opinion on here and doesn't want insulting any artists but like i said....it's just my opinion and i guess from some more...they just don't say it in the way like me. It's my nature to point everything in those way. Well Shadowcat maybe you try sometimes to write in my native language..let's see what we'll understand but i know that 95 % of all americans never learn to speak another language like we europeans and if you consider this...this really is bad

"i know that 95 % of all americans never learn to speak another language like we europeans and if you consider this...this really is bad"

95% eh? I've got a comment for that in Gaelic but it would probably get me banned. ;-)

Boytronic, the very subject you brought up is one known to generate a lot of controversy. I winced when I first saw it, and, sure enough people were gathering around you like blood-thirsty sharks. (That is a metaphor!) There have been a few subjects these days that get people excited in a negative way, and we've had a few "flame wars," or raging arguments. I didn't want to see that one go any further. Maybe we can just move onto something else? The main point for me is that I wanted you to know I care. Ron

Leather-guy was actually complimenting you, boytronic. He said that you handled English very well. Yes, there were a couple misunderstandings, but they were addressed. I agree. So please don't feel offended. Ron
