Subject: Poser window

Is there anyway to change to size of the document window, without covering up the dials? Also, on the background of the window is a outline of a girl on the swing, I found out by accident that I can move it around, is there a purpose for this?

All thing in the poser interface are movable/removable. what I would suggest is you keep what you need to work, present in the interface and remove the items you dont use often. ie I hardly ever use the animation controls, so I took them out. Same with the display modes. Also these items can be minimized by double clicking the name. after you've done that click on one of the indentions in the UI Dots menu to save your config. Hope that helps

YEEAAAH, I also wanna know what the hell is she for. Presumably, to clutter the background amd waste filestore space and program size and run time.

All UI elements can be moved to suit. Drag and drop the element title. Resize the Document Window by either drag and drop the lower right hand corner or select Window/Doucment Window Size. Save by clicking on a UI Dot. PhilC

Thanks for the info. That girl still bothers me though. Surely she has a purpose on the display otherwise why is she there?

butch: she's there for decoration. no, really. if you... what is it, ctrl or alt click? on the background, you can get a man on a swing, or some different figures. also, you size the window by grabbing the lower right corner. if it covers the dials, move 'em. :)

I personally like the concept of the Poser program, but think the interface, as well as the programmers might have more than a few screws loose. I look at the interface and a whole lot of things that could be improved come to mind. I am sure that I am not the only one to think of this. It is almost as though wanted to make it as complicated and useless as possible and still have a decent program. Poser is a good example of the Peter Principle and Murphy's law

I love Poser too, but Bryce and Poser both waste a lot of monitor space, and the interface isn't very well thought out- (Bryce isn't as bad, just more in being "special") why is the text so small on the dials, when there is so much blank area? The new Carrara is also like this- don't they think we have to see what we are working on?

The thing that really upsets me most about this whole thing, that I was an orginal user of Poser and then Poser 2, I don't remember the interface being that cluttered or hard to use. Also why is that Programmers think that have to get cute? Why not just make a simple easy to use interface that isn't cluttered, easy to read and most important, usable. Why not make the dials and menus, floating for one thing. Why not make the document window, full screen size for another. Why limit yourself to one corner? Poser is still one of the best programs of its kind out there, I can't wait to see what the next company does with it. Do you think they might be willing to listen to actual users of it?

heya; that's funny, 'cause metacreations created the 'new and disimproved' interface. the poser programmers had nothing to do with it. AND, if you REALLY hate it, press p, o, and 2 to get the poser 2 interface back. (and p o and 3 to get the new one back... if it works for you, that doesn't seem to want to work for me.)
