Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 30 8:14 pm)
I'd have to say, I never had that problem. had other import-related problems, but no lock-ups. I'm sorry to hear of your problem. :( One thing though, I was using all of the Vue plants well in 4.03, after a couple of patch fixes, thay all worked. I think it's only been one or two people who had the plant problem with 4.03. I hate to keep saying it, and I know it's aggravating, but they will fix all these problems. I know we should all expect that the software works perfectly, right out of the box, but...well...you know. :/
I uninstalled Vue and then re-installed. I then applied the 4.03 patch. Opened up Vue and imported the very same PZ3 that was locking Vue up before and what do you know? It opened it and I was able to manipulate it. Everything works great now. This was a pretty complex file consisting of Vicky, Mike with the Daz hi-res textures, and Debbie's Patio prop. I rendered the scene in final mode at 1024 x 768 and it was done in about 90 seconds. Based on this, I believe there is a problem with the new patch.

I just updated to the newest Vue 4 patch and now when I attempt to import a PZ3 file (Poser) the program imports it, but when I try to move the new object, Vue locks up. This never happened before to me. It also did the same thing with a 3DS file. Is anyone else experiencing this? It would be a no-brainer to revert back to 4.03 but I just ordered some vegetation from Vue and I am told it is totally useless without the 4.05 patch. My advice to anyone that is satisfied with the way their Vue 4 works then NEVER, EVER update it. Their upgrades actually appear to be downgrades. Of course if you have enough hard drive space then you could have a Vue 4.05 just for rendering the new vegetation and a Vue 4.03 for everything else. For the record, I have an Athlon 1.8ghz with 512mbs of DDR and WindowsXP.
