-and, it imports/exports nearly all formats alive, including Quattro Pro. I use it because it 1) cost me nothing, and 2) it works perfectly either in Windows or Linux :) You can download Star Office 6.0 for free at the link above, either in one big chunk, ot in 5 little chunks... Regd's, /PI'd definitely try Compatibility mode first, if that doesn't work, contact Corel & ask about an update or fix for it. I've always found it better to stay with software that I know & does the job for me, rather than hazarding the learning curve for alternate software that may lack features I depend on. Heck, I still use PhotoStyler 2 for about half the Image processing I do, even though I'm pretty comfortable with PhotoShop 6, and when I need a quick DataBase, I'm more likely to fire up dBase & write my own code than FilemMaker Pro5, or Paradox.
I like Star Office, but don't have XP, so I can't say how well it works on XP. The import/export filters are VERY good. I've redlines MS Office stuff for friends and shipped it back to them and they never knew it was not done in MS Office. Star Office is a big download, but you can order a CD of it for pretty cheap, if you have a slow connection and don't want to tie up your modem that long. If you have broadband, then no worrries, the download site is very fast. Interesting that QP won't work on XP. How old is it? jon

I post this here because I know there is a wealth of knowledge out there in Poserland ...
... and ... I know I can get a quick response!
[now, don't make a liar out of me, ok?]
Now that I have (hopefully) blown "sunshine" all over the place ...
I just switched over to WinXP from Win98SE and everything was great ... until ...
I tried to load my favorite spreadsheet program, Quattro Pro, and was politely informed that XP does not like QP.
In fact, it won't even talk to it.
So .................
What's the best spreadsheet pgm out there today that WILL talk to WinXP?
A QP look-a-like is preferred.
Suggestions anyone?
cheers, (maybe)
