Hello all, Sorry if you see this in two forums, I just want to expand my chance of help. :) I was wondering if anyone knew of a good paint program or plugin/filter that would allow mt images to take on an anime look, or a cartoon cell look? I use Vue 4 and Poser 4 for my current art work. Is there anything anyone knows of that works with those programs? For paint programs, I currently only own Aura2 for lightwave (I also own lightwave and know it has a good cell shader plug in, but I can not use lightwave yet...its a bit over my head). Basically, I am looking to make a digital comic but do not want the standard poser or vue look/feel. I want a more cartoonish style, something on the idea of typical anime. Any suggestions? Sounds like you're gonna have to rotoscope this. Software may be a wondrous thing, but it can't draw something automatically like this.

If you are working with still images rather than animations, a simple trick is to take the image into Photoshop and use the Poster Edges filter. =) Jay

Ronknights, yes, something like that. Maybe a bit brighter colors, but ys...that is the type of thing I am looking for. How did you achieve it?

OH, please call me Ron. All my Renderosity friends do! I saw the message just before mine, talking about the Poster Edges Filter in PhotoShop. I remembered I'd done this picture with that effect. So I posted the image. I just used the default setting since I didn't know what I was doing. People liked the way it looked in my gallery, so I kept it that way. Here's another one that is lighter. Oh, what the heck. I may as well share this one I just did. You're talking about comics? Well here is my very own comic character. His name is Marlin Fingle. He's in his "super hero suit now." It's all done just for laughs. Ron

LOL. Great character!!! These effects are what I am looking for. Thanks to your hint, I have found some cool filters in my paint programs that should do this. Thank you!!
