I hope so too, but I'm somewhat doubtful. Classic autism involves physiological changes to brain anatomy - these are permanent features and not likely to be affected by dietary supplements. There have been 'miracle' cures for autism before, but all have turned out to be inapplicable to nearly all 'actual' cases. I will watch the scientific press for mention of this.
My AS is classed as "high functioning", but it still is not a pleasant lifestyle. I've never had a bit of luck with the myriad od AS and general autism diets, supplements, etc. Although a diet very much like what the first article mentioned did do wonders for a candida problem and the joint pain that was interfearing terribly with my life. Ciao! Joe
We're in the process of cutting out all Milk, Wheat, Oats and Barley with our son.
It's tough, all the food we can get him to eat are made of these.
They say it takes 10 days without infraction to see an improvement in behavior, clearer thinking, social interaction.
I can see some change in him already. He was banging on the piano the other day and looked to his mother for praise when his "song" was finished.
Before now he didn't seem to care if we liked his art, music or not.
