Yeah, we'll probably offer it at a very small price as this would be totally non-profit. I've got someone working on getting corporate sponsors to advertise to help cover some of the cost of printing. I want to do this up right and make something everyone can be proud of! I also want to think of a way to print up the images that didn't win as a sort of consolation prize -- maybe a page in the back with "thumbnail" versions of all the entries, just so whoever gets the calendar can see them all. That way everyone at least gets their image in the calendar.
Anyone interested in helping with the administration of this calendar project drop me an email. I have a web site which the images will be posted on. I'm having everyone interested in helping out review the site for input on guidelines and format. Also let me know what you'd be interested in doing. To everyone else: the Call for Entries will be posted shortly.

I'm pleased to announce the conception of a project for a 2001 calendar. This will be a contest open to anyone doing CG art, in any software package. For each month the category will be the artist's expression of their perception of that particular month. At the moment, the details of the project are still up for discussion. Anyone interested in participating in this project? Drop me an email or reply to this message. I'd like this project to be embraced by the entire CG art community. I'm also soliciting a name for the project. In the interest of promoting goodwill and a spirit of community, I'd like the name to reflect some symbolism that stands for our commitment to artistic excellence and the spirit of helpfulness and creativity. I have created a website on which entries for the contest will be posted and will be accepting entries shortly. Winners will be selected by the entire community by secret ballot. Voting will be done via email links during a two-week period for each month's category. Stay tuned for a link to the site with a list of suggested guidelines for entries. So gear up your software and get prepared to render your little hearts out!
