Hi everyone, First post on this paticular forum. I have seen great reviews on version 4 and have version 2.0 and 2.1 upgrade from 3D World magazine and thought I would try it out (actually did a little when I was using Win98), when I install it under Windows 2000 I get to open or new and the program just disappears. Does version 2.1 work on 2000 or do i have to try the 4.0 demo. Also, is everyone happy with 4.0, does it deserve the great reviews I have seen. Thanks in advance from a TrueSpace user.

I love Vue 4 though I have no idea what TrueSpace is like so can't compare. I use win 2000 but don't have any other version of Vue so not much help telling you what you need to know. I'm sure some of the "old timers" here will be more help. I think Vue deserves the great reviews.

Thanks! I am looking at it for backgrounds and maybe bringing in models from TrueSpace. The two are kind of apples and oranges, but it is kind of neat creating a landscape and the procedural vegetation seams cool. I wish you could export the whole scene with vegetation and textures to other programs, Then I would definitely buy it!

I use Vue 2.1, that I got from a Uk game magazine. I use w98, and there are a lot of errors.. I survive but I sugest that you test 4.0 instead... I have at least two breakdowns a day....;)

Vue 2.x unfortunately won't work under Win2k. I think Vue4 is well worth it. Some people are having a few problems with it, but I haven't had any to speak of. Rich

Vue 3.1 was the first update written to work with W2K. Even v.3.0 won't do it without the .1 patch. I remember a person who said he was using v.2 on W2K without any trouble, but just one...and he might've been confused between 2.1 and 3.1.
