Subject: Please Help with Mike's Fantasy Beard

jaybutton ( ) posted Sun, 24 February 2002 at 11:48 AM · edited Mon, 20 January 2025 at 11:51 AM

Hi Everyone! I am normally pretty intuitive with Poser, but I am having some trouble figuring out how to make various parts of Mike's Fantasy Beard disappear. Let's say, you just want Mike to have a mustache, how do you get rid of the rest of the beard? I have tried playing with the Object->Properties to uncheck the visible option and I have gone into Render->Materials to make the unwanted areas transparent, but still no luck. I imagine that the answer is probably something really obvious. :) Thanks for the help! Jay

Jay, I went into materials clicked goatee then beard, textures none, transmap none and colors white, and put both transparency sliders to 100

Yes, let's hear it for Pokeydots!!! So you like that Fanasy Beard?! I'd love to use it for my much-delayed Odin figure. Maybe one day...

There is a faster way, just set the trans map for the bead mustach, hair or what ever it is to none. I howerver have discoverd another problem I think? I have'nt tested it extesivly yet. but when I have more than one beard in the pic the second and third beards have nothing listed under materials, trans ect.It seems to only use the setting map, trans, ect fron the first load and I made sure that there were several things loaded in between the beards. This is the worst case of cross talk I have ever seen, If it is cross talk. cuz usually with cross talk it affect morps stuff like that. I have never had it affect texture and trans ect befor.?? Is any one else having this kind of trouble?? I thik that once I finish the piece i am working on I will play with this and contact Anton if it persists , might have some sugestion??

Mine had things listed in this sample pic, I was able to change transparencies on both beards.
