I am new to this. Is there a relatively simple program-application which will allow pp2 files, or obj files from poser to be imported, simple deformities to be created (thus creating new morph targets for the prop), and then exported back into poser with the new morph parameters? I am thinking of changes to the prop not accomplished with the poser magnets, and yet not advanced enough to require buying Ray Dream. Thanks.

try morphmaster in freesuff it imports obj and is fairly easy to use. LG.

You may find these links to these free or low priced 3D modeling programs helpful:-- Anim8or

I model in Truespace which may be within your budget. You may like to visit my site to see what that program can produce.

And for a few more fairly powerful FREE modelers:

Open FX
Metasequoia LE
Moray

Oops, never mind the above... I just noticed you're looking to specifically make morph targets. As for free, Anim8or works very well. Rhino and 3ds max are also excellent, but they're on the pricey side. They say that Lightwave does Poser morphs very well, but I wouldn't know.

I can recommend Anim8tor. Gerald.

You forgot Carrara Phil! Amapi may be the NURBS product from TGS/Eovia, but Carrara is a decent product.

Thanks to all. I got Anim8or and it works great. Do have a problem with pp2 props assuming the same spatial orientation after the prop has been modeled and returned as a morph target to poser. Will try the Modeling forum for that one. K.B.
