THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Making objects usable on PC and Mac?

Does anyone know of a relatively easy (and inexpensive) way to make the objects that I create on my PC in Bryce 4 - soon Bryce 5 - usable on Macs? I notice that many of the freebies are suitable for both.

Thanks.

I think the main thing is not to make the file an exe. Just make it in zip format. I'm not sure on this but from what I read I think thats the main concern for PC/Mac. maybe the obp files are different for Mac/PC also...

Thanks for replying, Wadus. I definitely won't make an exe file. I did talk to someone else who's just as much up in the air as me, but he uploaded some freebies that he marked PC/Mac and said he hasn't had any complaints after hundreds of downloads. I have to assume there were some Mac users in that group. Thanks again.

well my freestuff is marked PC/Mac and I've had no complaints either...

Glad to hear it :-) I think I'll go see if I can edit my free stuff listings to reflect that. Thanks again!

I'm on a MAC & there appears to be no problem working with "PC Only" obp or mat files, haven't tried any sky presets. I do have some trouble with a few obp files but they may just be corupted files. The only thing that will not work is the exe installer versions (StuffitExpander can open some exe files, not the installers).
