Subject: Even rocks rust!

A lot of the rocks in the streams around here have this colour, I think it's the iron content. The light was a bit harsh but I couldn't resist all that colour ; D

wow... really wonderful and suggestive colours... i like the texture of the stone too; but i think that the real hot-spot of the image is the smaller rock on the right... the transparency and the movement of the water makes a really kewl effect on the colours...

Very cool! This would make an interesting texture for a 3D model, like an alien's skin or some such. :)

Artax & Jordy thanks for comments on the water, first attempt at trying to capture that! Slynky, I thought so too that's why I put it there ; ) Thanks for comments, there are so many textures in the woods I'll never run out of subjects. Especially now Varian, I'll be out looking for aliens! ...what's a chert???

That is beautiful Bev, the water, the rock, the wonderful punctuation of moss and the leaf make their own little photographic "Haiku" poem. :-)>

As I said in the gallery, this gives me a strong impulse to touch it and explore all the different textures there. Exept that it is a great composition and beatiful colours.
