Subject: Curves on models...

Hi everyone, I use Rhino for making my basic models (because Bryce3d is so hard to model in because I can't have more then one view open at a time) ... Anyway - I'm stuck... how do you make the edges curved in a model within Bryce? I have tried the "E" option but it doesn't seems to do anything. Basically I want to change all my straight and hard angles in a model to curver angles.... any help ?? tracy

Yes - but it still doesn't appear to want to smooth the sharp edges... Rhino doesn't appear to have a smooth function like something like 3dMax r2 or r3, and I have had a friend tell me lightwave doesn't have smoothing functions either (so I'm not going to buy another modeling program for a hobby) I thought Bryce could do it - but it doesn't appear to want to smooth the edges at all, and I can't figure out why :(

Tracy- Yon can round off corners, were the mesh has an edge in Bryce, is that what you want to do? You have to go in the the Edit window (the "E" on the little inital menu alongside the object) and select the angle below where all corners of that angle or less are rounded off, and click on the smooth sphere on the left, click on the faceted sphere on the right to reverse the process. How this interacts with the "smooth" attribute a object can have I have no idea, in 3DS Max you have two levels of smoothing, one just sets the attribute, the other adds vertices to the mesh to smooth it.

Jim - ahhhhh, so maybe that 3d max adding of vertices is what I'm after - anyway to do that in Rhino or Bryce (like hell am I buying 3d max ... it is over 2000 dollars :P ) My biggest problem right now is making bends and curves in Rhino... (sigh) I just can't seem to figure out how to do them very well - and I can't seem to find any tutorials which help with Rhino in that area. tracy-ann
