Subject: Is it just me?

Kurka ( ) posted Wed, 27 February 2002 at 12:16 PM · edited Mon, 11 November 2024 at 2:22 AM

For the past couple of weeks I'm unable to see any of the pictures posted at Renderosity. Maybe one out of ten times, I can. Anybody else with this problem? I have no problems with any other sites.

Yes! I had the same problem and MikeJ answered me saying that it was something to do with the cookies for renderoisity and that you need to have your email security setting no higher than medium under Internet Options - Privacy. As soon as I changed that everthing was fine!

Yes, it's the cookies thing (see link). And here are some links to related threads: No pictures showing http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=539017 Broken images http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=560722

Well, yeah, it's most likely the cookies thing, but I also discovered that at least in IE you can even set the Privacy settings to High, as long as you add www.renderosity.com to the "Allow" list. I imaging that Netscape and Opera have similar features.

Well, I have my browser set to medium, what else do I need to do?

Have you read this, Kurka?

Kurka ( ) posted Thu, 28 February 2002 at 11:23 PM

Well, I've got the cookies enabled, security to medium, still nothing. This sucks.

Kurka ( ) posted Thu, 28 February 2002 at 11:39 PM

Tried it with Win98 SE and WinME. Still nothing.

In the Member Options in the sidebar, click on Log Out. Then close your browser and log back in with your user name and password. That might work. If not, see if you can find your Renderosity cookie in your cookies folder. It should be called default@www.renderosity[1].txt and delete it and then see if that works. What are you seeing anyway? Little red X's or logos in place of the pictures?

MikeJ ( ) posted Fri, 01 March 2002 at 12:12 AM

Also you might try the "Leave" feature if logging out and back in doesn't work. I think that pernanently destroys the cookie, until you log back in.

Kurka ( ) posted Fri, 01 March 2002 at 11:13 AM

Tried all that. Nothing works. Bummer.

MikeJ ( ) posted Fri, 01 March 2002 at 11:53 AM

I don't know waht else to tell you Kurka. I'm very sorry. :( But, I'm going to send this thread to someone who might have better suggestions.

Have you checked your machine clock/date? It must be set to the correct time, date and year.

MikeJ ( ) posted Fri, 01 March 2002 at 12:27 PM

Kurka, also check THIS out.

Kurka ( ) posted Fri, 01 March 2002 at 11:10 PM

Yeah! It's the clock thing. I can see! Thanks. :)
