Subject: Dark elf = albino? Yes, everywhere but AD&D...

Well, I've been suddenly inspired, and have begun work on a Dark Elf gladiator character for Mike2, complete with conforming armor. I have already begun the morph targets, and the texture maps. Yes, he's albino. Those familiar with Moorcock will know why. However, for those people who play AD&D, only Drow are dark skinned. Most places that have "dark elves" have them either nearly indistinguishable from normal elves, or, like Dalamar from Dragonlance, ARE normal elves, cast out for evil ways. I still have to model the armor, and possibly the hair and definitely weapon, but he is begun...

I subscribe to the Warhammer definition also. Wow, there is another Gazgull on this website! Anyways, always looking forward to Valandar's releases, they are spicey :p - Gazzy!

i like both types, i consider drow an dark elves as different races, dark elves are elves that have been ostracised from societty and sometmes take to evil, drow are a different race of elves entirely. either way both kinds are great, better than pansy high elves

The only texture here is the chainmail on the left sleeve. It's not posable yet, but will be soon. I still have to do the armor plates on the thighs and calves, and maybe a codpiece... plus the big a** sword

Oh, and I forgot to mention the hair is not the hair that will be on the finished product... this is Koz's "Kyoko" hair as a placeholder...

Looks quite good. This is pretty much the texturing I had in mind for an Elric of Melnibourne character I wanted to do, only he would be a lot thinner. ;) scratches that project off list =D The armor looks outstanding.

Looks great!

Kier... who do you think inspired this? I did it normal MIKE build, however, because that way the clothing could be used/textured with other projects.

Exactly. ;) My basic point was, if I were to do an Elric character, this is pretty much exactly what I would have done! =) And yeah, I completely understand your reasoning for using the normal Mike build.
