Subject: Vue 4 via Paypal?

Ladyfyre-graphics ( ) posted Mon, 25 February 2002 at 9:14 PM · edited Sat, 03 August 2024 at 5:19 AM

Well I've saved enough now to go ahead and buy Vue 4 (whohoo), but I was wondering if there is anywhere (legal) that I can purchase it via Paypal? I get my earnings from the Renderosity store paid into there and was hoping that instead of the week long wait for it to be transfered to my UK bank account that I can go ahead and buy it tonight. I'm sure you could use PayPal if you could find an online vendor that both accepts it and sells Vue. I don't think E-on advertises taking PayPal but, according to PayPal, you can still send them money via their email address. However, in both cases, I don't think there's a "downloadable" version of Vue4. You'd still have to wait for the package to arrive.

Thanks Jackson:) I've sent an email off to E-On to see if they do, and to another company that I found in the UK that sell all kinds of 3D software, so hopefully somebody will take it I realise that I will have to wait for the software to be delivered - but I'm impatient . Whilst the money is sitting in the US in Paypals coffers, it doesn't seem "real" so I don't feel guilty spending it, whereas if it was within touching distance I'd just end up using it for groceries etc, so that's the other reason I don't want to transfrere it grins sheepishly Alla

Heh, I know what you mean about whittling away your extra cash on trivialities such as food, I've done that myself. You need willpower to fight those urges and save for the necessities of life like Vue4. Good luck, I hope you get it soon.

LOL! Congrats, Alla, Vue 4 is alot of fun. :) Make sure you read about the patches that have been released for it, if you haven't already been, and if you have any questions about patches, be sure to ask us first. I bring that up because if you get just Vue 4, you'll want to patch it. But, I think the newer CD's are shipping as Vue 4.04....not really sure.

Thanks Mike, I'm looking forward to it, after having made the mistake of plumping for Bryce 5 because of the network rendering!

heyas; most vendors don't accept paypal, because paypal charges them a fee to use paypal commercially. paypal says you can email ANYbody money, but only if the recipient ends up signing up for a paypal account to receive your money into. which i think in this case is not likely. :/ the only venues i know of that take paypal are 3d commune and bbay. of course, neither one has vue. (that i'm aware of, anyway.)

Thanks for the information Bloodsong, I didn't realise that, I just thought that they were like any other bank. Oh well I'll just have to move the money over to my bank account and send E-on an old fashioned cheque :p

yup. it doesn't take long for them to get the check and ship your order. the first time i bought vue, i sent the check to paris, and i got vue like 2 weeks later. heck, when i send checks to the us, it takes at least 4 weeks for me to get stuff :) that was cool.

You could try getting Paypal's credit card (Mastercard). It's really a debit card. They give you 1% cashback.
